This week we had zone conference and as always, it was amazing!! We also had the death meeting of one of my companions so we were in Madrid for two days and the mission nurse (cutest little single lady from Washington) invited us over for dinner in her piso (the first time in 4 months that I've eaten dinner early than 9 pm) and so we got to spend a little bit of time with her and she is the perfect example of a woman of faith. And she fed us a nice meal where we could eat however much we wanted and weren't forced to stuff ourselves to the rafters so that was a blessing.
One of my favorite things that Hermana bussy always says at zone conference is that in this mission, we believe in miracles. And it's so true. We see the Lords hand in everything, but believing in miracles is also believing in modern and personal revelation. God is real and is still very involved en the life of each one of his children.
We had quite the interesting Cita this week. A few weeks ago, we were walking to church and man stopped us on the street and asked us if he could take the classes to learn more about our church. We said of course but found out he didn't live in our area, only worked here, so we passed his number to the missionaries in his area. But then about a week ago he texted us and told us that he had moved and if we could please pass his number to the new missionaries that'd be great. But now he lives in our area! So we had a Cita with him on Friday and wow it was a Rollercoaster. I just gotta say that I am glad I can confidently answer questions about the doctrine and the policies of the church because that wasnt a Cita, that was an interrogation. He had a notebook out and he was firing questions one after the other before we even had time to completely answer. It was slightly exhausting but I actually enjoyed it. And the funny thing is, we can tell he really is looking for the truth he just has a funny way of going about it. And he completely trusts in everything we tell him because he said it wouldn't make sense for us to be doing what we are doing as missionaries if we weren't preaching the truth. Amen, brother. Now if he could just share that little insight with everyone else here that'd be fantastic.
Low point of the week is that Manuel was supposed to receive the priesthood yesterday but he didn't show up to church. Afterwards we got a hold of him and asked him what happened and he said he didn't feel prepared and got nervous and so didn't come. So we'll be working on that haha. But he started crying because he broke his 5 week long streak of coming to church. But hey it's a good thing in this church we believe in repentance ;)
On Saturday we had a ward activity to say farewell to our bishop who is moving to Barcelona and so many menos activos came and it was so good to get to know them and now we'll be able to work with them more!
Oh and the reason for the subject line is that this week in Villalba its festivo! And guess what that means?? Yup, Villalba will be hosting an infamous bull run this week. And not just on any street but the very one we live on. Wahooo welcome to Spain. It should be interesting.
I hope you all have a good week because I know I will!
Hermana Pendleton
