Happy day!!

Hola hola! We had Williams baptism was on Saturday and all went well! He was super happy to finally get to that point and he shared the sweetest testimony afterwards and now he's right on track and already talked to the bishopric about receiving the priesthood haha. On Friday we got to go to the temple with our recent convert Rene so he could do baptisms and I loved it so much! It was the first time I got to see the baptistry in the Madrid temple and it's gorgeous and the spirit was so strong. There were a bunch of other recent converts there from other wards and it was so cool to see so many experiencing that strong spirit and complete joy for the first time. And I loved watching those who baptized too for the first time and picturing then as incredible future missionaries.  On Wednesday we had a kind of hilarious experience. We were supposed to have a Cita with our friend Edelin in a park, so we went to the park, but the problem was that we had only seen this girl one...

Oh my! What a wonderful surprise!

Hola a todos! Probably only my family will know that they're supposed to say the subject line in the voice of Minnie mouse so sorry to the rest of you that don't know what's going on. This week I have learned so many lessons about what it means to be as a little child. Oh but first off, I am now in a trio again- it was a surprise for everyone! So we'll start from the beginning: on Monday and Tuesday we had Intercambios in sanse and it was a partyyy and on Tuesday morning we got the addition of Hermana hairel because her comp who is from Spain finally got her visa and so headed to the provo in MTC! But left her comp without a comp haha so she came and stayed with us for a couple days and now is sharing areas with another hermana who was compless. I'm sure their life is crazier than ours, counting my blessings. So yeah hermana hairel left on Thursday and it was a little weird to be just me and hermana barney in piso again after all the visitors. And then on Saturday ...

Is anybody willing to reteach me english?

I think I'll be needing to sign up for an English as a second language class when I get back because I can't have a normal conversation without being very very awkward. A couple days ago we were contacting in the street. We introduced ourselves to this cute girl waiting for her bus and she just gave us a blank stare then said "mi español es es bueno." ah vale pues do you speak English? We do too! And turns out she's from south Africa and now thinks we're crazy because we're from the United States and we actually can't speak English. We kept accidentally talking in Spanish and we tried to explain to her that we normally only talk to people in Spanish and she was just like "yeah but you're American." haha. But on the other hand, during English classes, the people there kept complementing my English every couple minutes, like "wow, you're so good, you know so much, I don't know how you do it." I was flattered. English is r...

Livin' a good life

We have so many golden people right now! So last Monday we invited a couple that we're teaching to be baptized the 12th of October. Which they have some palabra de Sabiduría things to work on so we'll see where that goes but we're excited about them. We are also teaching a girl named Patricia. I don't remember if I've said something about her before. She's super sweet and oh yeah she always has her hamster on her shoulder. But possibly her hamster died. She was telling us that he jumped off their balcony a few days ago and their neighbors called saying they found him in their house but she never said if he was OK and that seems like a pretty traumatizing experience for that little guy. Anyways, we taught her about the temple and she asked what it would take to get married in the temple... Perfect question thank you. She wants to come to church next week so we're looking forward to that. Also our most golden friend ever! Her names blanca and she rand...

Ole!!

This week has been exciting. Lots of fun citas and fun people. On Thursday we met with Manolo and monoli again and we may or may not have performed foot surgery on an 80 year old lady. Manoli was super excited for us to come and paint her toe nails and she was all smiles the whole night. We took off her previous polish (we only had to scrub for ten minutes)  and then she decided she should probably cut her nails. She proceeded to pull out the kitchen scissors and attempt to cut off her toes! OK not really but I sincerely though that she was gonna cut of at least one. So we took over and using proper clippers and sheer strength we got them all nice and trimmed. We also discovered stickers this week on our phones (like snapchat filters) and she sure got a kick out of that. After the pedicure, she was feeling all pretty and promised that she would come to church on Sunday, which she didn't do, but it's ok we'll get her there someday. This week we also had a 3rd roommate m...
