The Lord loves effort

Holaaaa I'm back! Well more like I'm still here :) this week has been a good one! Pretty tranquila. Hopefully this email gets through because my wifi has decided that it's tired and doesn't want to exert itself more than sending a whatsapp message these days so vamos a ver. We've been trying out some new ways to find on facebook and through technology and let's just say, I'm learning how to make all kinds of foods and I love it!  This week we've been able to work a lot with mathias and maria. They are both so amazing. So prepared and so willing to change and keep the commandments of God. We taught mathias about tithing and fasting this week. And not gonna lie, beforehand I was a little bit nervous. He had readily accepted all the other commandments, but I thought this one might put him over the top because I know he has not very much money. O ye of little faith. He's incredible! His biggest concern was making sure he knew all the ways that it was...

Just a lot of good

I think today I experienced the most anxiety that I have ever felt. And that is because I finally ventured into the big wide world. I made a quick visit to the grocery store where I did a really good job of making a fool of myself because all the food i was buying wouldn't fit in my little basket cart and so it all kept falling out and by the end, I had very full arms and I was trying to drag my little basket at the same time and trying to also maintain social distancing so I didn't get yelled at, but I couldn't see because of my armful of things and my homemade mask kept either falling off or sliding up over my eyes. Good times. But I did successfully make it out with all my purchases.  Other than that, it's been a very good week! On Tuesday, as many of you might've seen, we started out the week right with a Facebook live cooking show and so we had very much a plethora of brownies. But don't worry, we got rid of them pretty quick :) we also made ourselves ...

Happy day!

Happy pascua everybody!! I hope every decorated a lot of eggs and thought a lot about Christ this last week! We made some paper eggs and decorated them and taped them to the wall to be festive. Haha good times. And we had a good "sacrament meeting" with Mathias and some members! He even said the closing prayer! This week Mathias has progressed a lot! We taught him about the word of wisdom and as we talked about the things we should avoid, he said, well I guess I better go throw all that out. And he calls it the 5 mandamientos (5 commandments). Because he didn't know the word for commandment in Spanish so we taught it to him and it's his new favorite spanish word haha. His one little concern with the palabra de SabidurĂa was what's he going to do if he gets a fever but he can't drink tea? So he proceeded to show us all of the boxes of tea and infusions he had and we told him which ones were okay haha. There's also an elder that's from our stake that...

The work goes on and so does the quarantine

This week has been one very full of the spirit! On tuesday we started out with a mission wide zone conference over zoom and it was incredible! We talked all about the spirit and how to recognize the personal revelation that we are receiving. Basically I've had an entire week teaching me how to Hear Him. You could say there has been a common theme. And with that, my family has been sharing with me their answers to how they hear Him so I've been learning so much from their examples. And then claro, to add on to that, we had general conference! Which I hope you all watched and enjoyed as much as I did!  Some things I've learned about this week: -The spirit is polite, he only speaks when invited.  -the savior only had to suffer for our sins to fulfill his role, but he did so much more than that -we don't have to recognize that we are receiving personal revelation in the moment that we are receiving it. We just need to be good and act.  -the most important change...
