The power of almost prayer

So many little miracles this week. Me and my comp have been talking a lot about miracles this week and I've decided a lot of it has to do with the eye of the beholder. As missionaries and a lot of times as members of the church in general, we are constantly surrounded by the spirit. It's sometimes hard for us to notice when it's there because it just always is. However we are really good at noticing the absence of it. A lot of times, miracles come when we recognize the spirit is speaking to us, whether it be before the fact or after, and we act on that prompting or thought that we have. On Saturday we had a día de encontrar with our district and hermana arscott and I were not having a ton of success out contacting in the streets. We basically just felt like we were wandering around aimlessly talking to strangers (which I mean is kind of our job description- the aimlessly part just had to be fixed). But literally nobody would even let us get two words out of our mouths (also...

¡Twenty!

Well we've had quite the adventure the past few days. On Thursday night, Hermana Arscott came down with some kind of sickness and threw up in the middle of the night and we ended up having to stay in piso basically all day friday because she had a high fever and was contagious apparently. But don't worry I'm safe :) and good news! Jessica, Edison, and Yerai passed their baptismal interviews. Bad news, they didn't actually get baptized yet. So on Friday afternoon, Jessica's cousin had a heart attack and so she was in the hospital with her all night and decided she needed to stay with her and called us to tell us they needed to reschedule the baptism to the next week. So we did that, we communicated everything to the ward. But we also found out some things that might make it so that they can't get baptized for another little while so we will see. We're still praying it can happen this next Saturday. Saturday was a good day! I finally opened the package my ...

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Hola! Don't have a ton of time today but thanks for all the birthday messages it was so good to hear from you all! And yeah this week was really good! We had zone conference and it was amazing as always. And on Sunday we had Thanksgiving dinner with three Canadians and a Mexican dolphin trainer and then this morning my comp fell down the stairs while we were running to catch our train (and we didn't even catch it). Ummm we also are having a ton of fun planning our baptism for this weekend because there are a million complications as always. We have loved street contacting this week and have really been able to recognize the spirit guiding us and it's been incredible. The spirit is SO REAL. And we are definitely a church of miracles and I love it. I hope you all have a super good week sorry this is practically nothing but the group missionary games are calling my name. Love you all!! Hermana Pendleton Oh and it rained A TON this week! Oh and also we tried to ...

I got my hija!!!

Ok to start off, my new compañera is INCREDIBLE! Jolín. She came to me fresh off the flight from the good ole US of A and she just swaggered into sanse like she's been here for 18 months. and is amazing. All the members are extremely extremely impressed when they find out she's been here for four days and she's having a normal conversation with them. And her motivation to be here and serve everyone and share her testimony is very strong and ahhh she's just the greatest. Oh yeah and her name is Hermana Arscott and she's from Colorado :) So on Tuesday I farewelled my old companions and they headed off to their new areas and then I spent the next two days in a different area with two other hermanas who were also gonna be training and it was a partyyyy. We had a lesson with a recent convert and two drunk people who just wanted to pray the whole time and sing songs of praise. Let's just say it was hard to feel the spirit until we finally got them to leave but th...
