This week was a partyyyy. So on Monday, my dear sweet companion HermanaColes left me to head back to the good ole US and so i was supposed to spend the day with the Malaga 2 hermanas until Tuesday when my new companion was going to arrive, but the mission office just wanted to prank me i guess because i later found out she wouldn't be arriving until Saturday! So instead i got to spend the entire week with them and it was hilarious. Time flies though. They're so sweet and they have really cool amigos and they are hilarious. It's an hermana from Missouri and an hermana from Perú and they had me cracking up the entire week. They also basically have a petting zoo right next to their piso so for morning exercise we would just go feed the swans and look at the emus. They also are amazing cooks and I basically ate at a gourmet Peruvian/Spanish/American restaurant for the week. 10/10. Although slight downside was that I didn't get to meet with any of our amigos for the whole week because we were so busy hehe.
But then on Saturday my comp arrived! Finally! She had quite the adventure but she arrived safe and sound and we got to work planning our transfer and getting things going again. On Sunday we got to go to a members house to take the sacrament which is a blessing, but when hna Larsen (my new comp) was drinking the water, it went down the wrong tube and she was dying, and I was dying of silent laughter, shaking in my chair and trying to control myself so i didn't ruin the moment but everyone was very worried for the both of us. It ended well though no se preocupe.
On Sunday night we called Maria and were finally able to set up a real life cita with her for this Friday! So we're really excited, and she's doing really well, we're hoping to put her back on fecha this week or next! We also talked to Mathias for a few minutes but he was traveling across Andalucia so it made things difficult but we said a little prayer with him and got to meet hermana Larsen so it was good. And then the funniest thing ever happened.
So flashback to a few months ago when I was with Hermana Rico, I don't know if anyone will remember, but we had a golden friend named Stephen who ended up proposing to us. Both at the same time. That was hilarious. Well last night he tried to call us but claro que we didn't answer. But he texted us and said basically "hey sister can you pick up the phone please? I need to discuss something very important with you." Hoping maybe he had a change of heart and he wanted to talk about baptism, we answered his next call. We talked for a second and he asked if we were both still there. I explained that Hermana Rico went home and i had a new companion now. But he was confused because he never actually knew our names very well and so he was asking us to describe the one that went home (even though he should've just been able to see our whatsapp profile picture). And then he was like, "ok wait I have a question, which one went home, my first wife or my second wife?" ah man that one got us good. Hermana Larsen was laughing so hard she had to leave the room and i had no idea how to respond and i couldn't catch my breath enough to form a response, but eventually i said" umm neither one of us is your wife." and he uncomfortably laughed and said we didn't understand his question. Then he proceeded to ask us to tell him the spiritual meaning of an interesting dream that he had. We had to tell me we had no idea but we invited him to pray about and talk to our friends the elders if he had anymore questions. What a riot. (then today we were walking around centro and we saw him and he said hi and it was hilarious!)
But anyways, those were our adventures for the week. I've also been studying a lot about courage because Hermana Bussey asked me to share a spiritual thought at a meeting we have tonight and i decided to focus on courage. And i realized how much faith and courage are related. And i love Joseph Smith's words to the saints when he says, "Brethren, shall we not go on in so great a cause? Go forward and not backward. Courage, brethren; and on, on to the victory!" because especially right now, courage is all about going forward and embracing that victory that God has waiting for us. And it sure is a good one!
Well i love you all and i hope you have an incredible week!
