¡Go Nephi!

Holaaaa! We're feeling blessed here in sanse because we got our hot water back this week! I may or may not have not washed my hair for many days because of that. But its ok becuase dry shampoo is real and it works somewhat. We also are getting Elders here starting tomorrow so we'll have a fun time showing them the ropes the next couple days.

On Thursday we had a training meeting in Madrid and it was fun to see all the other companionship that are in training and I learned so much. We focused a lot on the restoration and the importance of that message. Which I mean obviously it is so important because it's what makes our church different. It's what makes our church true. But we talked about how missionaries it is vitally important that we can share that message clearly, powerfully, and with the spirit everytime. And that we know it like the back of our hand. And I think that is something that is useful not only as a missionary. I would invite you all to go back and study the restoration. Not just the Joseph Smith story, but all of it. What the missionaries would teach. You can even go and read the pamphlet in the gospel library haha. Because that was something I've always know but I never studied it all until I came on the mission. It really helps us have a more eternal perspective and see just how much God knows what is going on in the lives of all his children.

We had some fun citas this week. On Tuesday we did a noche de hogar with a member family and a member and his girlfriend and we taught the plan of salvation and it was so much fun. I love working with the members in our ward because they are usually way better teachers than we are and they get so excited about the opportunity to share the gospel with their friends!

Speaking of friends, on Saturday we went to visit Francisco (who still won't accept his baptismal fecha) and we had planned to read the story of the stripling warriors but about 5 minutes after we got there, two of their friends showed up and ah man it was hilarious. It was a married couple and the guy walked in and said ahhh you're havin Bible study and then hermana arscott said well actually we're studying the book of Mormon here this one's for you! Haha and he was like ok cool thanks and he just opened it up and started reading! So as we were talking, I changed plans in my head and decided to read in first Nephi. My companion probably was not very appreciative because, being new, she had already practiced all the words she would need for the other story but it ended up well. The new guy, orlando, was very animated as he talked about the importance of faith and how we should have more faith in God than we do in our mobile devices but somehow that's gone a little backward in today's society and then he got super invested in the story of Nephi and his brothers as they traveled back to Jerusalem to get the plates. And his wife, who was cooking and pretending not to listen was all in by the time we got to the cutting labans head off part. Haha I was trying so hard not to smile when she came over to the table to read over her husband's shoulder. They sent us home with a huge load of the soup and Tortillas that she had been cooking and now they're our best friends! Go Nephi!

We also were contacted by a guy on the street who we're 83% sure was drunk and he was trying to speak French to us even thought he was from perú haha. But he was loving the message of the restoration! And he asked us to come to his house to teach him all this stuff in a better setting. He didn't have a phone number because he said his phone got stolen a few days before but he gave us his address and we said we would pass by on Sunday. Slightly hesitant, on Sunday we headed over to his house. We got to where he said his piso should be and there was a door. But there was no way to get in or ring the doorbell like there normally is and it was covered in graffiti and we were too scared to knock haha so we just chilled there for a few minutes thinking what to do and then we just left and contacted haha. Hopefully we can meet him again someday. And he has our number so if he even remembers meeting us then maybe he'll give us a call :)

Life is a different adventure everyday and when we're looking for the miracles it makes it even better. I hope you all found the 34 "faith"s and the one "faithful" (because my mom threw that one in there) from last week's challenge :) love you all!!

Also sorry we didn't take like any pictures this week haha so you just get the blurry ones

Pringles save us

This week we just did a nice little tour of the south, which was very nice because all the other cities aren't as hot as malaga plus all the other hermanas pisos have air conditioning haha. We went from malaga to fuengirola to ronda to Jaén to Granada and back to malaga. And when we finally stepped of the bus back in malaga, the heat hit and humidity hit us harder than ever and we had already started back on filling those lakes just on our short walk back to piso. I love Málaga. On all of our very long bus rides we got very hungry but you're not allowed to eat on the buses because of Mascarillas. And the only food item we ever had was Pringles because it's the only good thing they sell at bus stations, so we would just slide one under the mask and into our mouths every few minutes when nobody was looking so we didn't starve to death. We really know how to do things right. When we were in Jaen on intercambios, we visited this cute member family. And like I said, they wer...

Rondaaaa

This week was a partyyyy! On Tuesday, our favorite members, Ana y Fernando, wanted to take us to their favorite buffet in fuengirola, but when we got there, the original buffet no longer exists, but in its place was a sushi buffet haha. So we went. First time sushi eater here. But my dear sweet little companion helped me pick the things that weren't gonna kill me so I very much appreciated that. And then Ana just Had to buy us these little owl family souvenirs with their names as the parents and me and Hermana Larsen as the children hahaha (pictured below) they're so sweet.  We had a Cita this week with an amiga named Joy. She's an amiga of the malaga 2 hermanas, but they're both Latinas and Joy doesn't speak Spanish so we're helping them out. She's so sweet. They had planned to teach her about. she evangelio de Jesucristo, the pasos that we have to take in this life, and invite her to be baptized. We started talking about the first paso, faith, and I asked ...

Lakes to slightly smaller lakes

A nice little heat wave from Africa came in the last couple days. In the form of very very hot wind. But it did take down the humidity levels from our normal 85%. So instead of sweating lakes all day, we are sweating slightly smaller lakes. Feeling very blessed. Except for actually not having the humidity for a day felt very strange. I felt like I was about to shrivel up from dehydration. Vamos a ver what utah does to me haha. But it's been a really good week! We had two intercambios which means a week full of parties and lots of lessons and lots of learning. Always so much fun. We have a friend named Sebastián and we were finally able to meet with him in person to give him a book of Mormón. He was so excited to have one and right after the lesson he was gonna head to the beach to lay out and read the book of mormón. But we ended up giving him two books because he wanted to share one with his mom as well. Que máquina! We also met with our friend Fredy and he came to church yesterda...
